Elena Delle Donne Named to 2023 WNBA All-Star Game … – WNBA

Washington, D.C. – The Women’s National Basketball Association announced today that Washington Mystics forward Elena Delle Donne has been selected for the WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 15, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Delle Donne will be making her seventh career All-Star appearance, her first since the 2019 season, and is one of three Mystics players to be named an All-Star four or more times with Washington (Chamique Holdsclaw, 5; Alana Beard, 4).
The Delaware product is averaging 19.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 blocks in 14 games (all starts) this season. She joins Breanna Stewart (NYL) as the only players to average at least 17.0 points and five rebounds while shooting .450 or better from the field and .370 from three-point range this season, and is one the only player to accomplish this feat in five or more seasons.
The 10-year pro has led Washington in scoring nine times this season and totaled six 20+ point performances. On May 21 vs. Connecticut, she became the 15th player in WNBA history to amass 4000+ points, 1500+ rebounds and 300+ blocks in their career, the second fastest to reach that mark (Delle Donne, 220 games; Lauren Jackson, 209 games). Delle Donne also recorded her 21st career 30+ point game on June 30 at Atlanta, becoming sixth all-time in the WNBA for such games.
Fans, players, and media determined the 10 starters for the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game, with fans accounting for 50% of the vote while the players and media accounted for 25% each. The 12 reserves are chosen by the WNBA’s head coaches. The captains, the two All-Star starters who received the most fan votes, will draft their respective teams by selecting from the remaining eight players in the pool of starters and then from the 12 reserves. ESPN will broadcast the WNBA All-Star Team Selection Special on Saturday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET.
