NBA Las Vegas Summer League 2023: complete schedule and how to watch – AS USA

Attention all NBA fanatics! The Summer League in on the verge of starting. This year’s draft class, led by Victor Wembanyama, is sure to attract a few more fans than Summer Leagues of years past. The action tips off on Friday and will run through the 17th of July when a winner of the 2K24 Summer League will be crowned.
Two “mini-leagues” have already started in Salt Lake City and Sacramento, but the main event of offseason basketball starts on the 7th of July. While it is not certain how much of rookies like Wemby, Brandon Miller, Scoot Henderson and the Thompson twins we will see, it is almost guaranteed that we will see at least a little preview of the Top 5 picks in the NBA Draft, along with the rest of the rookie draft class.

Miller has already got a little run with the Charlotte Hornets, scoring 18 points and pulling down five rebounds in his debut in Sacramento against the San Antonio Spurs. Number 1 overall pick, Wembanyama did not take part in that game since his season in the French League just ended a few weeks ago.
Head coach Gregg Popovic said “will participate in the Summer League. To what degree, we’re not certain yet.” We could see him in the Spurs debut game in Vegas when they take on Brandon Miller and the Hornets again on the opening day of the Summer League.
The first game on the summer slate of games will be the New Orleans Pelicans and the Minnesota Timberwolves, starting at 1:30 p.m. in Vegas, 4:30 p.m. ET. ESPN and NBA TV will be broadcasting each and every one of the games as teams will play four times before the “playoffs” start. The semifinals will be on the 16th of July and it will all lead up to the Championship the following day.

Teams are more concerned with evaluating talent, and keeping their main guys healthy then they are with winning, but the level of competition in Salt Lake City and Sacramento has been sky high, so expect the same in Vegas when the tournament tips off on Friday afternoon.
