College basketball transfer portal rankings 2023: Hunter Dickinson headlines top 25 available players – 247Sports

The college basketball transfer portal is hotter than ever, and some of the top three transfers are still on the market. They include Michigan center Hunter Dickinson. Where each ends up remains to be seen, but expect to see plenty of movement in the coming weeks, even days, as some have already announced commitments.
The transfer portal’s best available players is highlighted by a some multiyear starters looking for a fresh start elsewhere, including elite scorers, talented big men and backcourt sensations from mid-majors anxious for opportunity.
In the first year of the portal windows, the college basketball transfer portal began earlier this month and runs until May 11.

With that being said, here are the top 25 players still remaining in the transfer portal:

The 7-foot-1 post started all 34 games during the 2022-23 season. He paced the Wolverines with 18.5 points per game and averaged a career-best nine rebounds per game. He also finishes with 31 career double-doubles, tied for sixth all-time in Michigan history. Dickinson confirmed a meeting with Arkansas and also reportedly held a Zoom call with Kentucky. He would be a game-changing addition for any program that lands him, should he choose to leave the Wolverines.

Per 247Sports reporter Travis Branham, Armstrong has the “highest floor” of any point guard available and is a tough cover at 6-foot-5 in the backcourt. He averaged 11.2 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this season, despite not living up to expectations as a preseason “draftable” player among NBA conversations. Armstrong’s recruitment is still early, but Rutgers, West Virginia, Xavier, LSU, Gonzaga, Washington, Memphis and Oklahoma reached out, Branham reports.

Abmas is a graduate transfer and has one more year of eligibility remaining. He has 2,562 career points and will be in position to eclipse 3,000 career points in 2023-24. Abmas opted to stay at Oral Roberts for all four years, despite knowing he would have been one of the most sought-after players in the country. Oral Roberts won 30 games in 2022-23 with Abmas leading the way, but the Golden Eagles were bulldozed by Duke, 74-51, in the NCAA Tournament’s first round.

Knecht is garnering significant interest from high-majors across the country. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound guard erupted for 20.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game this past season. Knecht was a former junior college All-American at Northeastern JC before really taking off at Northern Colorado. To no one’s surprise, he has plenty of suitors. He shot 38.1% from 3-point range and 77.1% from the free throw line.

Battle averaged 17.9 points a game and inflicts his damage at all three levels but particularly the three-point line where he drilled 35-percent of his 8.1 attempts a game this season. Despite a bench role for Temple most of the year, Battle still led the team in scoring. On 13 occasions, Battle scored more than 20 points this season in 27 games played and his bucket-getting will be a useful tool for whoever lands him next year.

Ike averaged 19.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.3 assists for the Cowboys during the 2021-22 season. He sat out this past season due to an injury. 
“I am looking for the right fit for myself,” Ike told 247Sports’ Brandon Jenkins. “I want to come in and be around great people and a great coaching staff within a great university. I want to be around players who understand winning and want to win. I have to get back to the NCAA Tournament and I have to win games. I have not won a game there and I would love to win games to push for a national championship.”

Shedrick will be a graduate transfer with two seasons of eligibility remaining at his next school. The Holly Springs (N.C.) High product averaged 6.2 points per game, 3.8 rebounds and 1.4 blocks over 17.5 minutes during the 2022-23 season, entering as the Cavaliers’ starting center before a January move to the bench. Shedrick started 15 games in all for the Hoos and finished his season with 15 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks against Furman in the first round of the NCAA Tournament as Virginia fell to the Paladins in an upset.

Estrada was the CAA Player of the Year in back-to-back seasons, 2022 and ’23. The former Saint Peter’s and Oregon guard averaged 20.2 points, 4.3 assists and 5.5 rebounds this past season while shooting 36.8% from 3-point range. Estrada is a graduate transfer, so the NCAA’s new memo for two-time transfers does not apply, and eligible in 2023-24. He immediately becomes one of the most prolific scorers available in the transfer portal.

Bamba experienced a breakout season in 2022-23, his third campaign with the Cougars, and also entered his name into the 2023 NBA Draft while he maintains eligibility. Bamba shot 42.6% from the field and 37.2% from 3-point range while grabbing 3.7 rebounds per game. Bamba told CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein that he would make his decision April 14.

Abram entered the NCAA transfer portal during the first week of the open window. A 6-foot-4 lefty guard out of Port Arthur (Texas), Abram averaged eight points, two rebounds, and two assists for the Rebels this season.

Bradley was a five-star recruit in the Class of 2022 and headlined Alabama’s No. 4-rated recruiting class alongside fellow five-star Brandon Miller. Bradley averaged 6.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.8 turnovers in 19.8 minutes per game for the SEC champions. Bradley played in all 37 games and earned 22 starts. He opened the season coming off the bench before earning 22 consecutive starts throughout the end of non-conference play and all of SEC action. Bradley played less than 10 minutes in four of the team’s final seven games.

Oquendo also averaged 2.6 rebounds per game and had 18 assists and 15 steals.
