NBA Rumors: Lakers, Warriors Among Teams Interested in Shake Milton – Bleacher Report

The Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors are among the teams expected to express interest in Shake Milton when the NBA’s free-agency period opens at 6 p.m. ET Friday.
Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported “several Western Conference contenders” have their eye on Milton, who spent his first five seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Warriors and Lakers would likely only be interested in Milton on a minimum contract. The SMU product averaged 8.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists while playing 20.6 minutes per game last season with the Sixers.
While he’s been a regular fixture in the rotation throughout his NBA career, he’s tended to fade to the bench in the playoffs. Milton averaged just 3.5 minutes per game in six postseason appearances last season.
It’s unlikely Milton develops into a postseason superstar, but he’s a quality minutes eater in the guard rotation for the 82-game regular season slog. His career-best season came in 2020-21, when he averaged 13.0 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
The Warriors in particular will need to fill their roster with minimum-contract players due to the financial constraints of the new collective bargaining agreement. Milton would be an injury failsafe behind the recently acquired Chris Paul.
